The laser level makes life simple. A revolving laser on the tripod sends out a level beam of light, that is picked up by the yellow box on the stick in Russell's left hand. The box makes noises to say too high, too low, or just right. To make life even simpler, the laser doesn't have to be set level, it automatically moves its mounts until it is level, then starts spinning. If it is knocked out of line, it stops spinning until it levels itself again.
